Alright, this is a decision I'm leaving entirely up to you, so cast your votes on my profile on FF.net.
The REASON: When I had originally created LOAS, I used the name Renee (which is my middle name). I've always been horrible when it comes to creating names - but the more I look at it the more unprofessional it seems (although most of you probably wouldn't know my middle name). People have asked me before if Renee is a self-insert, which she isn't. I'm not even half that cool.
I finally decided upon a name that works: Natalie Klein. It still allows for a nickname to work "Nattie" in place of "RenRen" for Renee.
Her name would be the only thing that would change. I would simply go back over the chapters for both stories and change her name. There would be no changes whatsoever to her character's personality. It's the same character, just with a different name.
So vote. As I said, it's entirely up to you.

Attention All Readers...
There might be an increase of time between my chapter updates of LOAS: ATW. Those who've been following me as an author for some time know of my plans to write an actual fictional novel with plans to publish, and they know how I've been struggling since mid-summer to try and find an adequate plot that will work.
And I think I've finally found it - because, normally, writing LOAS is my first priority, but instead, the ideas for this novel is actually (at the moment) bumped LOAS to second place.
But do not worry. I will not abandon the story, like I have been guilty to do so for a couple of my previous fanfictions. LOAS will still carry on, for I love Halo with all my heart and soul - this just means I might not update weekly - it probably will be bi-weekly.
It all depends. Alas, do not be disappointed. The reason why I am generally jumping upon this novel idea, is because, I technically have a little more than 12 months to get the novel finished and published... because, although writing is a talent, I desperately want to be an actress.
And beginning actresses need another job while they're scrounging for auditions. This novel, if it goes well, will hopefully pay my way to Los Angeles (my ultimate destination), or university.
I'll certainly let you know how it is coming along.

Chapter 16 Up
That blasted chapter is finally finished, it took a while. Thanks to everyone who has reviewed so far. I noticed a couple of you were saying that you are ready for the mission: I promise that it will happen within the next two chapters, maybe I can even narrow it down to one.
Just that I don't want to rush things.
I'm actually surprised that I finished the chapter this week, because I'm involved in my school's play, and we're down to the last few days before performance nights, so I'm putting in 10 hour school days (rehearsal is from 1 to 6). I'm getting pretty tired - too bad I couldn't take my laptop to school and write when I'm in the wings. Technically speaking, I could, it's just that I do not trust anyone to leave it when I need to go onstage for my lines.
I'll be done of the play on Saturday, so I'll be back hopefully to my regular updating schedule. Sometimes it is tough to be both an actress and writer. Demanding, most certainly.
So, this is just a random tidbit, I was listening to a new Taylor Swift song I downloaded this morning on the bus (Ok, I know, you're probably thinking 'Ew Taylor Swift, she only sings about love and boys) But this new song of hers she released called "Breathless" actually ties in very well with LOAS: AtW. I'll put some of the lyrics, just in case you're curious. Maybe even download it and give it a listen. I like it.

Chapter 15 Up
Glad to get it done. Ran into some writers block, as well as having to re-write a scene a couple of times to get it right. I was kind of struggling with getting the right mood in this chapter. Didn't want to make it too angry and negative, but didn't want to make it all flowers and daisies either.

Back to General Freedom
Finished my last exam yesterday (I think the highest mark I could've made on it was a 68) but anyway.
No more exams means: back to writing!
Although I've only got "Chapter 15" (literally, haha) written for the next chapter, I'll get to work.
Living in lovely Canada, I woke up today to a shit blizzard. I didn't have to go to school anyway, but it was cancelled at noon - which meant the exams that were meant to be written today have been postponed to Monday. Means no school for me on Monday either. Tuesday's a marking day, so once again, no school. I've got a 5 day weekend ahead of me. Score.
So somewhere between chillin' with friends, going to see Avatar one more time (what an awesome movie) and just enjoying general freedom - I will get to work on the next chapter.
The Poll. It's going well - 34 votes cast so far. At the moment, the answer "Yes" is taking the lead with 21 (61%) of the votes.

Chapter 14 Up
Got it finished and published on the site last night.
Today, I completed one of my exams and now there's one more to go: Math. It has never been my strong point, so I'm going to have to cram in order to get a half-decent mark. Once that stuff is out of the way, I'll be free to update as much as I want, there'll be nothing stopping me.
So for all who's reviewed the new chapter so far, you have my thanks as always. Same to my voters. I think there's been 11 people so far? It's a highly controversial vote, I know. But I just want to know your preferences as to this touchy subject. However, the result of the poll will not neccesarily mean that's what I'm going to do. It all depends. I'm playing with the idea and threw the poll out there just to see what you'd think.
In response to the comment left on my last update: unfortunately Love of a Spartan: ATW and Return to Sanghelios will not be related / intertwined in any way. When I thought about creating the Sanghelios story, I knew I wanted to do it because it's so different from what I've been working on in the past. It's not humans - but Sangheili. I throroughly enjoyed entering 'Kolsamee's mind in Love of a Spartan and I realized I wouldn't mind going further and doing an entire story circling around Sangheili characters. Return to Sanghelios is an entirely different world, literally and figuratively, and I hope it goes well. (Chapter 2 should be up by the first of February).
Whoo, I'd say I've flapped my gums enough for now.

Still Working Away, when I can
In my free time, how little there is, I'm adding to Chapter 14. As well, I'm working on Chapter 2 of my other Halo story, Return to Sangheilios.
I'm going to write my Cdn History exam tomorrow, and my Math one on Thursday, and once I'm done of all that, it'll be back to having general freedom!
There's probably about 2,000 words to Chapter 14 now.
And 3,000 to Chapter 2 of Return to Sangheilios.
They're coming. Slowly but surely.

Working on Ch 14, best I can.
I actually started it yesterday, to be truthful. For a while, I had a bit of writer's block, but yesterday I took the time to write out ideas on paper (I'd finished all my work in Canadian History, which is the most boring class in existence). So I came home and started the chapter using my scribbly ideas. Probably got like, 500 words or something. Better than nothing.
I still doubt it will be up before February. Exams are next week. I've only got 2, but still.

Merry Christmas Everyone (Chapter 12 Up)
I got Chapter 12 up last night - got the right amount of motivation to finally finish it - and it finished with a bang. Amy of course would take that in the wrong way, but depending on how bad your mind is, I suppose you could take it whatever way you want, since it works.
So, how was your Christmas?
Mine was great. Recieved a new cellphone and 3 Christian Bale movies. Public Enemies, Terminator: Salvation and American Psycho, plus lots more great things. I got a freakin' 2 lb chocolate bar! It's HUGE.
Like it would be the Master Chief of the chocolate bar world. Seriously. This thing is a tank.
I'm not going to try and eat it all in one day, or I'm afraid I wouldn't be slender anymore. More like major blob. (Watched T2 for the first time today, and yeah, that T1000, he was a total blob. Picture that x 10, only I wouldn't be that cool and walk through walls).
Kind of rambling here.
I'll be working on the next chapter soon, once the chaos of Christmas calms down.

Working on 12
I'm working on chapter 12. Though I'm behind schedule again. I only have 1000 words done so far and I'm supposed to post the new chapter on Friday or Saturday.
Chapter 12 might be last chapter posted until after X-mas, just because I'll be really busy. School is out in 2 days though and I have 2 weeks off. :)
Hah, got another stupid review from a douchebag, penname "that guy neoj" whose best insult he can come up with is (copied and pasted):
"love of a spartan sucks big balls the only thing good about this is nothing i think i got dumber for reading this gay crap my cuz is trying to tell you this will be okay but its not this is gayer then the time i played the game superman for the n64"
I just have to rip this up. How many things are wrong with this?
1. No capitalization
2. No commas
3. No periods
4. There is no such word as "cuz"
5. "Its" should be "it's" or "it is"
6. Due to the context in which it's being used, "Then" should be "Than"
7. If he hates my story so much, why would he "read it" and allow himself to get "dumber" by doing so?
8. Last time I checked, Love of a Spartan contains no homosexuality. (Not that there's anything wrong with that *cough* homophobe *cough*)
9. How can a story (or anything non human/animal) "suck balls"? Clearly it has no mouth.

If you're going to hate my story, at least give me a logical and mature reason. Hating it because it is gay - that's not saying anything about anything but yourself - This guy is immature and probably jealous that, unlike him, I have an ability to actually write properly in the English language.

Ch 10 Up
Finally I've got chapter 10 out of the way. Can you believe it? 10 chapters already! I'm pretty excited, it's a milestone, that's for sure. This chapter was actually longer than the last few had been. Usually, it's me trying to make it just long enough - I usually average them around 7000 words, but this time I was writing and checked the word count and I was at 6900, and I hadn't even begun to close the chapter.
This one I had a little difficulty with, I was struggling with trying to get the right mood and the way the characters would be responding. I rewrote the scene between John and Renee when they both arrive home a couple of times. At first, I made them get into another heated argument, but it was too extreme and wouldn't be easy to resolve in the time I wanted. So I softened it up, and then it was too light and happy - John and Renee, Renee especially was acting much like her 19 year old self we familiarized ourselves with in the original story. And I was like, no, this is wrong - she's 38. Duh.
I think the scene is now okay, but I don't think it's the best it could possibly be, but I'm not really up for tinkering with it - I didn't want to keep you guys waiting. I knew if I put it off to another day I wouldn't get it up for a while.
This weekend I have to work on a couple of projects and I might be going to the movies tomorrow night - so there would be little time for the chapter to be finished.
Anyway, hope it pleased you all.

Didn't update when I posted last chapter. I've been really busy lately, and frankly it sucks. I forget the last time I was able to sit there and think "I've got nothing to do, I can relax". At the moment, I've got nine projects to do.

And someone wants me to draw a picture for them.

Chapter 8 is up
Finally, I'm glad it's done. Frankly for a couple of days that thing has been a pain in the ass - a source of writer's block and added frustration to an already relatively stressful lifestyle.
But, it's done.
I had a bit of difficulty writing it obviously - lack of motivation I suppose. Also I had to kind of think it through more than usual, which was weird.
Out of all the chapters at the moment, I don't really like this one. I don't know, you probably will, but maybe it's just because I've had a horrid long and drawn out experience writing it.
I included another ODST character this chapter - Dare. As far as I know, if my plans for future chapters go unchanged, Dare and possibly Buck will play a larger part further on. Maybe the other ODSTs as well.
So, I kind of left with a cliffy. The mood in this chapter was dark, and the next one will be generally as dark too, for I left you with John's hinted desires to destroy the man who destroyed his chance at anonymity.
Look forward to some big time drama next chapter, John's not going to be a happy camper.
Yeah, that's pretty much it.

I had a bit of difficulty writing it obviously - lack of motivation I suppose. Also I had to kind of think it through more than usual, which was weird.
Out of all the chapters at the moment, I don't really like this one. I don't know, you probably will, but maybe it's just because I've had a horrid long and drawn out experience writing it.
I included another ODST character this chapter - Dare. As far as I know, if my plans for future chapters go unchanged, Dare and possibly Buck will play a larger part further on. Maybe the other ODSTs as well.
So, I kind of left with a cliffy. The mood in this chapter was dark, and the next one will be generally as dark too, for I left you with John's hinted desires to destroy the man who destroyed his chance at anonymity.
Look forward to some big time drama next chapter, John's not going to be a happy camper.
Yeah, that's pretty much it.
For now, anyway.
